Nelson Ogbonnaya and Chinonso Okonkwo were the goal scorers for Enyimba as the People's Elephant thumped MFM FC 2-0 on Wednesday in their rescheduled Nigeria Professional League tie.

In the game played at the UJ Esuene stadium, Enyimba ensured that they continued their steady rise on the NPFL Log with maximum points against the Olukoya Boys.

From the blast of the whistle, Enyimba left no one in doubt that they are gunning for maximum points in the rescheduled tie.  

Fans did not have to wait for too long to celebrate the first goal of the game, which was scored in the 12th minute by Ogbonnaya who rose the highest to power home an Abdulrahman Bashir corner.

Enyimba's second goal came barely 10 minutes after the opener and it was from the penalty spot with Okonkwo expertly burying the ball inside the net.

Though there were several other chances afterwards, neither Enyimba nor MFM could change the tally.

With this victory, Enyimba with 21 points from 14 games are now 5th on the log while MFM FC are 10th on the standings with 19 points but from 13 games.
