For Arinze Nwangwu, it is better later than never hence the choice to celebrate having finally ending his goal drought in Abia Warriors colours.

With just two games left to play in the league this season, Arinze scored the only goal as Abia Warriors beat visiting MFM from Lagos 1-0 at the Umuahia Township Stadium in a week 36 NPFL tie over the weekend.

"It was a very difficult match as we all know that MFM is a good side and for me to score the winning goal is special", the former El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri said.

He commended the players and officials for working together to achieve the victory revealing that before the game, they had agreed to win the match in honour of the club's chairman, Chief Emeka Inyama who was celebrating his birthday.

On Abia Warriors position on the league table, Arinze said there is no cause for alarm as the Umuahia capital city side will retain its premiership status at the end of the season.
