Another player from Shooting Stars, Wasiu Jimoh is in the run to pick up the prestigious Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season's VAT Wonder Goal Award.

Of the 16 goals recorded on Match-day 29, Jimoh’s goal for Shooting Stars in a 1-0 win over Katsina United as well as two others by Abdulrahman Bashir of Nasarawa United, Victor Chidume of Remo Stars have been adjudged to be outstanding.

The Oluyole Warriors’ Abu Azeez was shortlisted last term but he finished in third place.

Jimoh will be hoping to grab the award for 3SC this time but he faces stiff opposition from the duo of Bashir and Chidume who both scored beautiful goals in the period under review.

Bashir's goal helped Nasarawa United claim a 1-0 success at Sunshine Stars which eventually proved to be their first away victory of the campaign.

On his part, Chidume scored a gem of a goal for Remo Stars who eventually lost 2-3 to Lobi Stars in Markurdi.

The VAT Wonder Goal award is corporate social investment of the League Management Company (LMC) and is supported by the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS), using the league platform to promote its tax education campaign.

Winners of the award get a prize of N150,000 half of which is donated to a charity to be nominated by the player and situated within the state where the club is based.
