The 2017 Aiteo Cup Champions, Akwa United Football Club of Uyo have announced that they will play Heartland FC of Owerri in a preseason friendly in Uyo, on Wednesday, November 22nd as part of their preparations for the new football season.

The friendly was confirmed by the Team Manager of Akwa United Sir Emmanuel Udoh after Tuesday morning's training session.

The match will take place at the training pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium at 4pm.

The Promise Keepers played two friendlies last week against Flying Sports Academy of Eket and NYSC State team, winning both matches and scoring ten goals.

Wednesday's match with Heartland will be Akwa United's first preseason friendly against an NPFL team.

Heartland gained promotion back to the NPFL after emerging winners of the Southern Conference of the Nigeria National League NNL in the just concluded season and they are expected to give Akwa United a good test on Wednesday.
