Heartland FC of Owerri have pulled out of the proposed preseason friendly with Akwa United based on ‘logistics’.

The game was initially fixed for Wednesday as part of Akwa United’s preparation for the new NPFL season as they look to get a stern test from the Naze Millionaires.

But reports have emerged from the Promise Keepers' media officer Mfon Patrick suggesting the friendly will no longer hold as planned.

Akwa United will now play Bright Stars FC of Uyo at the training pitch of the Godswill Akpabio international Stadium on Wednesday at 4pm.

The Coach Audu Maikaba tutored side played two friendlies last week against Flying Sports Academy of Eket and NYSC State team, winning both matches; scoring ten goals.

The proposed match with Heartland was meant to be Akwa United's first pre-season friendly against an NPFL team.
