Nothing Must Happen To Our Candidate, ZLP Warns Ajimobi
The national chairman of the Zenith Labour Party(ZLP) Dan Nwanyanwu has said that the Oyo State Governor will be made responsible if any harm comes to Hon. Rotimi Ajanaku.
Nwanyanwu spoke in Ibadan during the party's mega rally on Tuesday
Apparently worried by the reports that hours before the rally kicked-off, members of the party and a police officer, who were arranging and putting finishing touches on the venue, were allegedly shot by suspected members of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Nwanyanwu flanked by his wife; a former Governor of the state, Rashidi Ladoja and members of the National Working Committee of the ZLP, also raised the alarm that since the party’s House of Representatives candidate for Ibadan South West and Ibadan North West, Rotimi Ajanaku left APC to contest under ZLP, security agents have been on his neck following a trumped up allegation by his opponent.
Nwanyanwu, who presented ZLP flags to the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Sharafadeen Alli; the three senatorial candidates and all the 14 House of Representatives candidates, including Ajanaku, said nothing must happen to the young man, ‘whose entry into the race, has continued to send jitters than the spines of the ruling party and its candidate in the constituency.’
The Zenith Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in his address said he is ready to take Oyo back to greater height.
"Oyo State is known for first in anything but now we are lagging behind, if I become the governor of this state, I will return Oyo back to her old position, I will become the governor of this State come March,I have come to restore Oyo glory."
"Oyo citizens will not be paying for any school fee for both the primary and secondary schools, I will fully support local government autonomy, I will not demand a dime in disguise of tax from churches and mosques and we are going to provide adequate security for our people." he said.
While speaking at the rally, Ladoja said "we are the only party in the state that is peaceful, we remain the only party in the state that they cannot toy with, Zenith party will take over power from APC at this coming gubernatorial elections in the state." Ladoja said.
