North Korea Promises To Give Up Nuclear Weapons
If it is true, then the world has President Donald Trump to thank for averting another war.
Trump said the rocket man has agreed to give up his nuclear weapons. He also said that he is prepared to meet with Kim Jung-Un.
If this happens, it would be the first face-to-face encounter between the two countries’ leaders.
This revelation came to light on Thursday after South Korea’s National Security Office head Chung Eui-yong, who had been leading a negotiation between the two countries visited America.
Chung Euiyong spoke with reporters at the White House after briefing Trump on a meeting South Korean officials held with Kim earlier this week.
“Kim has committed to denuclearisation and to suspending nuclear and missile tests,” the South Korean official said.
In response, Trump tweeted that “a meeting is being planned”.
Chung said Trump had agreed to meet by May in response to Kim’s invitation.
A senior U.S. official added that it could happen “in a matter of a couple of months, with the exact timing and place still to be determined”.
