Veteran broadcaster and Nollywood producer and director, Tunde Oloyede is dead.

The 70-year-old producer, died in the early hours of Monday in his home in Festac.

He was the former President of Independent Television Producers Association of Nigeria (ITPAN), and produced and directed the popular Village Headmaster, which ran from 1968 to 1988.

In 2013, the man who produced 364 episodes of the series said there was a plan to bring  'The Village Headmaster' back,  in three possible formats - film, stage and television.

That dream may never happen.

His is survived by his wife who is also a veteran broadcaster, Bimbo Oloyede, and their children.

May his soul rest in peace.
