Nollywood actor, Kenneth Okonkwo believes he has what it takes to transform Enugu state from 2019.

He might have been inspired by the success of Desmond Elliot, who is a member of the Lagos state House Of Assembly.

The veteran film star intends to run on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Okonkwo declared his candidacy during the expanded meeting of the APC in the Enugu state Chapter.

He claims that the ruling People’s Democratic Party is not fulfilling the dreams of the electorate after several years in power.

According to him, the governor of the state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has nothing to show for his fours years in office.

Okonkwo confessed that it would be more difficult for him to win the APC ticket, than winning the governorship election.

The actor said (if elected) he will bring in the success formula of the Nollywood industry into the state.

He explained that Nollywood has grown over the years without government intervention and he hopes to apply the same principles to governance in Enugu.
