Popular Yoruba actress, Aisha Abimbola, is dead.
The actress, who was popular for her role in the "Omoge Campus" movie, passed away in Canada on May 15, 2018, after a long battle with cancer.
Her death was confirmed by fellow actress, Bisola Badmus Adunni, who announced her death on her Instagram page.

1. Antar Laniyan Gave Abimbola Her First Role
Antar Laniyan offered her the role of an absent actress, while she was in her final year at Lagos State Polytechnic (Laspotech).
However, it was Biola Igida's "Omoge Campus" that shot her into limelight in 2001.
2. She would have been a pastor
Abimbola was born into a Muslim family, but she later converted to Christianity.
She once said that if she had not gone into acting, she would have become a pastor.
Abimbola featured in indigenous and non-indigenous productions such as "No Pain, No Gain," "Awerijaye," "So Wrong So Right," "Omoge Campus," and "Kamson and Neighbours"
She made her debut as a producer with the 2016 movie "T’omi T’eje".
4. Personal Life
Before her death, Aisha Abimbola was formerly married to a colleague, Victor Ibrahim. They had two children.
5. Breast Cancer
The actress had been away from the screens for awhile because she was receiving treatment for breast cancer in Canada, before her death.
She died on May 15.
