Victor Moses cannot stroll back into the Nigeria national team if he decides to come out of his international retirement Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr has suggested.

Rohr said he will welcome the wing back, if he changes his mind to return to the national team but on some conditions.

According to statement credited to Super Eagles’ media officer, Toyin Ibitoye, Rohr stated that Moses will have to rediscover his form to gain a place in the Super Eagles’ squad.

The player who played major role in Nigeria’s qualification for the World Cup suddenly had a dip in form at the global stage and then announced a self-imposed exile from the team so as to get himself better entrenched in Chelsea.

However, he has had just cameo appearances under the new coach, Maurizio Sarri as Moses does not feature in his plans. Since the beginning of the season, the Nigerian has only started one game and has not featured at all since October.

That has prompted him to begin to look outside especially in the current transfer window.

Nigeria’s coach, Rohr believes “Victor Moses is a very good player for Nigeria.

“I believe it was too early for such a good player to stop international football when he did, but we have to respect his decisions.

“If he changes his mind we will welcome him but he has to find that motivation within himself to come back and be ready to give his 100% at all time as we know he can.

“Then of course, it is important that he gets back to playing regularly at his club and get his sharpness back.”
