President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministers seem to be touring the states to give account of their stewardship.

But we know this is mainly to persuade Nigerians to give the current government a chance to continue in 2019.

They were in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital on Thursday for their special town hall meeting which was organised by the Oyo State government in collaboration with the Federal Government at the Emeritus Professor Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall Opposite UCH main gate.

The Minister for Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola admitted that the coming election would be one for Nigerians to make a clear decision.

"I want to urge Nigerians to make the right choice between us and the looters in 2019, choose who is the best manager of your resources when voting in the coming election.

"President Buhari has lived up to the expectation of Nigerians who voted him into power in 2015, his achievement cannot be compared to others who have been in government for 16years without any tangible development in this country," he said.

Fashola spoke on the achievement of his ministry and said that his ministry has been able to construct one federal road in each state of the federation.

He also noted that President Buhari has directed him to pay N450 billion to all the contractors handling the Federal Government roads and who are being owed.

But the question many would be asking is why many of these roads are not completed having passed the expected completion dates.

The Lagos – Ibadan expressway, Ilorin – Jeba road, Abeokuta – Sango road, Lagos – Kano road, and the notorious Tin Can - Mile 2 to Oshodi – Anthony road are among such roads.

Mr Fashola promised that the Buhari government would complete them before the end of the current administration.

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and his Information and Culture counterpart, Lai Mohammed also made presentations at the event.

Trust the Oyo governor to seize the platform to praise himself as usual. This time, he appraised himself as the architect of modern Oyo State.

The governor noted that in the last three years of his administration, he has been able to transform the state to modern Oyo State.
