Nigerian Musician Files 500 Million Naira Lawsuit Against 9Mobile
Maleke Moye wants compensation and is determined to get it legally.
The musician, satirist and former executive director on entertainment matters to governor Adams Oshiomole has dragged telecommunications giant, 9mobile to the Federal High Court Ikoyi.
Maleke has accused the telecommunications company, who are presently searching for new owners, of intellectual property theft and commercial exploitation of the said stolen intellectual property.
The singer is not joking as he seeks 5 million Naira as payment for damages for the unauthorized copying, theft, sale and continuous resale for sixteen music tracks belonging to him as ring tunes for up to 7 years.
He lamented on the huge financial loss he had suffered over the years because of the telecommunications giant.
Maleke claims that he tried to open communication channels with 9mobile's parent company, but was frustrated.
