‘Nigerian Music Does Not Need Validation From The West’ - Ade Bantu
Wizkid, Davido and every Nigerian musician seeking relevance in Europe and America don’t need it. At least that's what Ade Bantu believes.
The Nigerian/German musician, producer and social activist said this while talking about how an artist’s main goal is to be recognized by an international audience.
The front man for 13-piece band, BANTU reiterated that Nigerian musicians do not need to win a Grammy or an Oscar, or collaborate with a foreign artiste to prove their relevance.
While also not taking anything away from those who have accomplished such milestones, he stressed that the biggest market for a Nigerian artiste is in Africa.
Ade Bantu is the organizer of the monthly Afropolitan Vibes that holds at The Freedom Park in Lagos.
