Nigerian Leaders Need Prayers - Cleric
You do not need to curse your enemies but pray for them so that God could touch them.
So, Nigerians need to pray to God to guide leaders to tame the spate of killings in the country.
Anthony Fadairo, Parish Priest at St. Agnes Catholic Church Maryland, Lagos, gave the advice at the Service of Songs for late Ted Mukoro on Tuesday.
Fadairo condemned the spate of killings in the country, especially by suspected fake herdsmen.
He said the fresh killings of people in Benue, including two Catholic priests, was appalling.
“We just heard of the fresh killing of people, including two Catholic priests by suspected herdsmen.
“It is so sad. We should pray for our leaders for direction on this issue.
“We should also pray for these rampaging killers to have a change of heart, so that there can be peace,” he said.
Late Mukoro, popularly known as “Uncle Ted”, died on March 7 at 89, after a brief illness.
Mukoro, was a renowned actor who played the original role of “Headmaster” in the popular TV series, “The Village Headmaster” in the 80s.
He was also a broadcaster and an advertising guru with stints at the Nigerian Television Authority and Lowe Lintas, an advertising agency.
