Nigerian Female Politician Suspended From U.K Labour Party
She had expressed her disdain for Pride marchers branding them ‘evil’ in posts which she shared online.
Chika, also a pastor and councilor for the London Borough of Harrow was suspended after the posts went viral.
In the multiple homophobic comments which she shared online, the female politician referred to Prides as events for ‘pedophiles’ and further threatened people who challenged her remarks.
Speaking on the suspension of the Nigerian female lawmaker, a Labour party spokesperson said: “Chika Amadi has been suspended from the Labour Party pending an investigation.”
A social media user on Twitter who pointed the error to the politician was replied with the response: “Evil. If you dare walk naked in front of my child God will give you terrible assignment that will put you to perpetual sleep. Be warned.”
The Harrow Council’s leader, Sachin Shah while speaking with Evening Standard said: “As Leader of Harrow Council and a proud Harrow resident I absolutely reject and condemn these abhorrent statements.
“Homophobic views have no place in our community – which is one of the most diverse and accepting in all of the UK. We stand for equal rights for all – and I have asked the national Labour Party to deal with this issue swiftly and decisively.”
