A violent argument which ensued between two political thugs at the Akosile unit, ward 10, Isolo, Akure South local government area of Ondo state had abruptly ended voting exercise in the area.

The violence which left one person with blood injury in the head was said to have centered on a minor disagreement between the two opposing political supporters.

"It was a normal argument which was taken out of context. Everybody was waiting for his or turn to vote when we suddenly noticed the chaos.

"Before anybody could mediate, they were already using sharp objects against themselves which made people to retreat and start running for safety." Said an eyewitness at the unit.

Also, another prospective voter disclosed that the hoodlums were supporters of two of the Senatorial candidates in the area.

"They started their argument with the achievement of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko when he was in government and what he is capable of doing if he is elected as senator, while the other party believe that Tayo Alasoadura will be far better than him in the Senate."

Presiding officers in the area were said to have quickly protected the ballot boxes and papers while police officers dispersed irate crowd to prevent further casualty.

One of the hoodlums who was stabbed in the head was noticeably receiving first aid treatment before being taken to the state hospital.

Many of the voters were said to have returned to their houses without the opportunity of casting their votes.
