The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of working hand in hand with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to rig the 2019 general elections.

Oshiomhole, who spoke during the party’s caucus meeting on Monday in Abuja, insisted that PDP was pre-informed by INEC, before the postponement of the general elections.

He said that INEC told PDP not to spend its money, following its planned postponement.

Oshiomhole stated that APC has spent so much in preparing for the elections and demanded that INEC should apologize to Nigerians, particularly APC voters who traveled far and near to cast their votes.

The Chairman revealed that the party would write to INEC to discuss issues on how to make the postponed elections, free, fair and credible.

“We want INEC to assure us that the elections would be free, fair and credible. “They need to speak to us about the reconfiguration of card readers”.

President Muhammadu Buhari in his remarks said that he has ordered security agencies to ensure they secure the whole environment and make sure the election went smoothly.

“I will warn those who has planned to disrupt the peaceful elections to desist from their planned actions. Anyone who tries that is doing it at the expense of his own life”. President Buhari said.

At the meeting were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, serving and former state governors, among others.

State governors at the meeting included that of Zamfara, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, Jigawa, Borno, Bauchi, Kebbi, Niger, Lagos and Kaduna States.

Also in attendance were the Senate leader, Ahmad Lawan, senators, Secretary to the Government of the Federation(SGF), Boss Mustapha, ministers, among others.

The meeting, which began a few minutes after 11am was held at the national secretariat of the party as opposed to its usual venue, the Presidential Villa.
