NigeriaDecides2019: Man Abandons Polling Unit To Pray For His Candidate On Expressway
While Nigerians of voting age are falling over themselves at different Polling Units to elect their leaders for the next four years, Mujid Adebayo has a different opinion and approach to the success of his candidate.
He seems to believe more in the power of prayer for his candidate to emerge winner in the ongoing presidential and National Assembly elections than exercising his franchise with PVC.
As early as 8am when voters were already converging for accreditation at various polling centres, the 33-year old Adebayo was on Ijapo-Fiwaye express road in Akure, allegedly praying.
According to him, victory belongs to God and He gives it to whoever He wishes.
"Everybody cannot vote at the polling centres. This is the only way I feel I can give a full support to my choiced candidate in this election.
"I have been praying before now. I only seize the privilege of movement restrictions to further seek the face of God especially, on the election day and am convinced God will answer me." He said.
Adebayo however refused to disclose his preferred candidate, saying he will be revealed by the time he is declared winner at the end of the polls.
While his decision does not seem logical to some people, many simply attribute it to his lack of permanent voter's card.
