The candidate of People Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has defeated President Muhammadu Buhari with 1,461 votes in Oyo State.

The Collation Officer for the Presidential election in Oyo State, Prof. Abdul Kareem Age, who is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin announced this on Monday, February 25 at the INEC office in Agodi, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Atiku polled 366,690 votes, while Buhari of the APC polled 365,229 votes.

A total of 73 political parties participated in the presidential election, and the total numbers of registered voters was 2,786,542, while the number of the accredited voters was 905, 007.

Total votes cast was 891,080 but out of these, 54, 549 were rejected while 836, 531 votes were valid

According to the APC Oyo State secretary Mr. Mojeed Ola Oyaif the party detects any fault while going through the results, the law will take its cause.

 "I am satisfied and not satisfied because INEC is just a collation centre. Results read here are from each ward.

“They are only brought here to be read. We will work with the information we have with our party agents and compare it with what we have in the result sheet," he said

Also speaking, the Oyo State Coordinator for Atiku Campaign, Dr. Nureni Adeniran expressed his happiness for the victory of PDP in Oyo State

"I am happy we won. Oyo State is Atikulated, we have delivered Oyo State to our presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. In other words, we are expecting that Atiku wins other states so that we can get Nigeria working again."
