Gunmen have abducted the Osun State Coordinator, Buhari Media Advocacy, Adeboye Adebayo, in Osogbo, the state capital.

Adebayo was abducted on Thursday in his house located at Kunfayakun, Oke-Oniti area of Osogbo in a blue Toyota Camry car.

He was kidnapped in the presence of his wife, aged mother and other relations. Adebayo, who quickly put a call to journalists, said he had been whisked away towards Ilorin Road by the gunmen.

He was said to have taken to Otaefun enroute Kwara state boundary.

Efforts to speak further with him proved abortive as his number was switched off a few seconds after the call.

When contacted, his wife appealed to the kidnappers to set her husband free.

According to the distraught woman, her husband is an easy going person.

But, when contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Osun State Police command, Folasade Odoro said the incident had not been reported to the Police.

Commenting on the development, the director of publicity, research, and strategy of the APC in Osun, Barrister Kunle Oyatomi said he does not have details about the incident.

He, however, said that that “if it is true, that indicates that a worrisome dimension has been introduced into pre-election politics. But, we are pleading with his abductors to release him unconditionally.”
