This applies to Senator Ademola Adeleke's political predicament right now.

His decision to contest the Osun State Governorship election, which he lost to the incumbent Gboyega Oyetola seems to have deprived him his seat in the senate.

In a keenly contested election last Saturday, Engr Lere Oriolowo of the All Progressive Congress (APC) won the Osun West Senatorial District election.

The name of Adeleke, who is also singer Davido's uncle, was not on the ballot box because he contested in the last governorship election in the state.

According to INEC, Engr Oriolowo polled a total of 102,147 votes to defeat the PDP candidate, Lere Oyewumi who scored 97,294 votes. Prince Dotun Babayemi of the African Democratic Party (ADP), came third with 42,915.
