Man-of-the match for the Super Eagles in Monday's friendly, William Troost Ekong has dedicated his first goal for the national team to his son.

Ekong shot Nigeria into the lead in the 14th minute during the international friendly against DR Congo at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt

Monday's goal was Ekong’s first in his 19th appearance for the three-time African champions.

He tweeted after the game through his official Twitter handle @WTroostEkong: “Happy with my first international goal tonight. This one is for my boy. Thanks for all your support!”

Ekong is expected to be included in the Super Eagles’ 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
