The Nigeria Roller Sports Federation has invited 15 male and female athletes to camp ahead of the forthcoming African Skating Championship slated for Lome, Togo in December.

The athletes, who were selected after the conclusion of a two-day national trials in both track events and marathon, include: Abu-Sadeeq Abdulrasheed, Ibrahim Adebowale, Tunde Ishola, Solomon Brown, Kelvin Vitani and Samuel Iganga. Others are Adebowale Fatimah, Adeye Adeola, Itunu Oke, Thompson Muhammed and Chimaobi Patrick.

Also invited are Oyeniran Mathew, Omotayo Gideon, Mathew Lawrence and Emmanuel Onuegbu.

The Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Federation, Kingsley Nkisa said the athletes will go into close camping in November.

“The athletes we selected are technically sound and champions in their various categories and will definitely do the country proud in Lome. I've no doubt in my mind that they are going to win medals in the continental championship and that is why am appealing to corporate organisations to complement the efforts of our amiable President, Comrade Joseph Eva who have been single handedly sponsoring the Federation to enable us to write the country's name in gold in Togo," he noted.

About 50 athletes from 35 states of the Federation participated in the two-day trial.
