NFF Awards: Ex-Convict James Ibori Shows Up
It is the belief of many that nothing is as sweet as freedom.
Now he can attend public events in any part of the country, without any hindrance.
Ex-convict and former governor of Delta State James Ibori was physically present at the first Nigeria Football Federation Awards held at the Sheraton Hotels in Lagos on Monday.
Ibori was jailed for four years and released from British prison in December 2016 after serving half of his 13-year sentence.
At the NFF Awards on Monday night, Ibori was seated next to the incumbent governor of Delta State Ifeanyi Okowa, who was himself sitting next to his Lagos counterpart, Akinwunmi Ambode.
It is no surprise that Ibori was seen in a football event as NFF president Amaju Pinnick is also from Delta State.
Ibori governed Delta from May 29, 1999 until May 29, 2007.
