New Year Robbery: How Mrs Catherine Died For Her Husband
Tuesday, January 1, 2019 is a day that will never be forgotten by one Mr Akin and members of his family.
Perhaps, joining the children in church for the crossover night would have saved him from the calamity that befell him.
Dare devil armed robbers invaded their home and held him and his wife Modupe Catherine, hostage at gun point.
It was about 12.40 AM when their children were in church for the cross over service.
The wife could not bear the thought of becoming a widow and she stood between the robbers and her husband and started pleading with them not to kill him.

Unfortunately for the woman, one of the robbers pulled the trigger firing the deceased on her chest.
She died instantly, while the robbers made away with their phones, laptops and cash sum of two thousand, two hundred naira (N2,200).
Based on the sad event, operatives of the State Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) visited the scene and gathered items of evidential importance which were analysed.
This led to the arrest of one of the robbers. During interrogation, he gave his name as Isah Shobayo and confessed committing the crime.
He later led detectives to arrest one Ogundimu Olalekan who served as their armourer.
Members of the gang have been in the custody of police while investigations into the incident continue.
