Many have read diverse meanings to the posting of a new commissioner of police to Kwara state with some arriving at the conclusion that it is a calculated deployment meant to settle political scores.

However, the new Commissioner of Police in Kwara State CP Fafowora Bolaji has disclosed that he was not posted to Kwara State for political reason just as he maintained that politics should be played according to the rule of law.

The  Kwara police boss, who attempted at clearing the air while speaking with newsmen at Kwara State Police Headquarter in Ilorin said:  "soldier comes soldier go barrack remain  I don't want anybody to begin to read meaning to that" he said

He said they would be professional in their duty, as he urge Kwarans to be law abiding.

CP Fafowora Bolaji, who also called for a total support from the  press as the fourth estate of the realm, stressed the importance of the press, in social, political and economic development.

He called for truthful reportage noting that he would work with the media as they would not hinder them from doing their jobs.

He also stressed the need for the press to verify the information they have been given, just as he believed that they could work together for good.

It would be recalled that the newly posted Commissioner of Police Kwara State Police Command, Cp Fafowora Bolaji Olaniyi assumed office  5/9/2018.

He took over from Cp Aminu Pai Saleh.

Cp Fafowora Bolaji Olaniyi hails from Ilesha in Osun State, a Political science graduate of University of Ibadan. He enlisted in the force as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.

He served in many strategic capacities, which includes, IGP's committee on review of Boko Haram and related matters, he headed the Anti-Fraud Section of the Special Fraud Unit, Lagos, he was a one-time Deputy Force secretary, Force Headquarters Abuja, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration) Benue State Command and Commissioner of Police, Airport Command Lagos.

Cp Fafowora Bolaji Olaniyi who is happily  married with children has attended many courses both within and outside the country, and he is an advocate of community policing.
