Leicester City slipped into being relegation battlers last season after a fairy tale run saw them winning the Premier League in the 2015/16 season.

Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi believes he and his teammates have to improve ahead of the new season.

The Foxes have been shaky in their preseason games; the last being a 1-0 defeat to Championship side, Wolverhampton.

Though he is very optimistic, Ndidi wants his colleague to work on mistakes noticed in the pre-season outings.

He said: “We’ll look at our mistakes and continue to prepare for this coming season.

“We just need to keep working and focus.

“So many things (need to improve), because as the pre-season is going, the fitness levels and the energy need to be on the right track.

“Everybody needs to be at their best. It’s been okay, the fitness level is coming up. We hope before the start of the season everything will be okay.

“We’ve been doing cool, everybody is doing great, there’s just some little mistakes.”

Since arriving in January in an £15million move from Genk, Ndidi has been a pivotal figure in the Leicester City team and he will hope to keep his place in the first 11.
