NBA Chairman, Two Other Lawyers ‘Harassed’ By Police In Ilorin
The Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Ilorin branch, Mohamned ldowu, and two other legal luminaries, including a university lecturer, were allegedly harassed by the police on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at the Traffic Section of the `A’ Division under the command in llorin.
The other two lawyers allegedly harassed were lsmaeel Lukman and Mustapha Adua, a law lecturer at the University of Ilorin.
Narrating their ordeal to newsmen Adua said some policemen on duty stripped their colleague half naked when he attempted to bail somebody in their custody.
He alleged that the police harassed and molested him and two other lawyers including the llorin branch of the NBA Chairman, who intervened in the matter.
The Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Samuel Okasanmi, told newsmen that the police command is investigating the matter with a view to bringing perpetrators to book.
