The Nigeria Labour Congress are willing to go to any length to ensure that the nationwide strike they have called workers to embark on gets far-reaching effects.

One institution that affects all are the banks and they were picketted on Thursday by Labour officials, even though they were initially opened for business they have since closed their operations and it is not sure if they would open at all tomorrow (Friday) if the strike action continues.

A security officer at one of the new generation banks told Bounce News and those who were gathered in front of the bank that he received an instruction via a phone call around 12 noon that he should lock up the bank entrance gate and not allow anyone get in.

He said up until that 12pm, they were letting customers in.

Indeed, the strike action called by the NLC was largely adhered to as some of the public places visited where not opened for business.

The Lagos State Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja was devoid of its usual human and vehicular traffic though it is understood that some were in the premises for skeletal duties.

The Public Schools in Ikeja were also closed and it was gathered that it is the same situation across the state.
