National Sports Festival: Buhari's State Missing At Opening Ceremony
President Muhammadu Buhari was penciled down as a Special Guest at Thursday's opening ceremony of the National Sports Festival in Abuja but he could have been embarrassed if he had showed up at the National Stadium.
While athletes from the various states were giving their salutes to the other dignitaries present, there was no form of representation from Katsina where President Buhari hails from.
Organisers only alluded to the fact that Ebonyi State did not register and show intent to be part of the 10-day multi sports event.
However, Bounce Sports noted that some other states were not part of the opening ceremony parade while some other states just had one flag bearing contingent; raising the question of where the other team members.

Kebbi, Kano, Ebonyi, Imo, Osun, Kogi and Rivers states were all nowhere to be seen during the opening ceremony of 2018 National Sports Festival at the National stadium, Abuja.
During the march past, Edo State stole the show as Governor Godwin Obaseki was there live and direct with his athletes.
It is yet to be seen if this is just a PR stunt as Edo athletes have been at loggerheads with officials in the buildup to the Festival as athletes complained vehemently against their unpaid allowances.
