#NASSUnderSiege: Osinbajo Explains Mysterious "Order From Above"
Tuesday's barricade of the National Assembly could be compared to threats to the nation's democracy.
Reports have said the order to stop the members of the National Assembly came from above.
A major reason the Acting President may have sacked the head of the Department of State Services, Lawal Daura, may not be far-fetched.
On Wednesday, the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, said on national television that the order did not come from the Aso Rock.
"He (Osinbajo) was in the dark, he didn’t know.
"He got to know about that incident like you and me,” he explained.
The cry and shout while the lawmakers pushed their way in was that the order was from above and that the ruling All Progressives Congress was behind the act.
A Senator even claimed that lawmakers that were members of the APC were allowed into the complex through a back door.
But Ojudu, denied the claim.
"No single member of APC was at the premises of National Assembly when that happened.
"The incident came as a surprise", he insisted.
Mr Ojudu said he was sent to the National Assembly by the Acting President to find out what went wrong.
There were dozens of PDP lawmakers at the premises of the National Assembly while none of their colleagues on the platform of the APC was present.
The leadership of the National Assembly had called an emergency meeting for Tuesday, and observers say the invasion was to stop that meeting.
Ojudu insisted that the former Director General of DSS, Lawal Daura, did not seek the consent of the Acting President before sending security operatives to the complex.
“If you sensed that trouble was coming and you then decided to barricade, so how did those people who entered manage to enter? the presidential aide questioned.
“Who did you discuss with before even going to barricade?”
“The Acting President was not informed, he was not told. If you are going to take such a measure as a security chief, you need to consult with the Commander-in-Chief of the country,” he added.
That decision by Daura was rewarded with a sack letter from the Acting President.
