Super Eagles Captain John Obi Mikel is under extra pressure to lead Nigeria to the next FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Aside millions of football crazy Nigerian fans, Mikel has revealed that he has extra motivation from Russia from his 'in-laws' to make sure he helps the Super Eagles qualify for their sixth FIFA Senior World Cup.

Mikel inadvertently has also made it known that Olga Diyachenko is more than a girlfriend as she is fondly being referred to.

"My wife is Russian,” he said, “and many of our relatives and friends are from Russia. They are all expecting Nigeria to qualify for the next World Cup. I think they will kill me if I fail them," Mikel told FIFA.com

While the road to Russia for the Super Eagles is still a little bit far, they have the urgent task of getting past Cameroon in the next set of games in the qualifying series.

Already, the World football governing body, FIFA, has appointed Egyptian referee, Ghead Grisha, and respected Gambian, Papa Gassama, to take charge of the upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifying games between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

The games will be played on September 1 and 4 respectively
