Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has taken time to reply his critics who think he is parking the bus against tough opponents.

United defended as they played out a goalless draw against Liverpool in the English Premier League on Saturday at Anfield.

That result was followed by a 1-0 win at Benfica in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday where Manchester United held firm at the defense.

Marcus Rashford scored the lone goal in the 64th minute, and put the side on the brink of reaching the Champions League knock-out phase.

Wednesday’s result was the ninth clean sheet in 13 matches and the Red Devils boss cannot understand the negativity surrounding his style.

"Not that I read it a lot, but sometimes when I read the press - not only English but Portuguese - I feel that sometimes defending properly it is seen as a crime. But it is not.

"That's why we controlled the game because we defended properly.

"But, again, you know, 12 matches, 10 victories, two draws, nine clean sheets. We are not bad", said Mourinho.

United’s next game is a trip to Huddersfield on Saturday.
