Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has insisted that goalkeeper David de Gea will not leave the club this summer.

De Gea believes the 2017/2018 season is his best of seven years spent at Old Trafford, with reports rife that he is about to be offered a new five-year-contract.

Real Madrid was reported to be interested in the 27-year-old, but they seemed to have shifted attention to Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Asked if De Gea could leave Manchester United this summer, Mourinho said: "No chance."

Ahead of the English Premier League clash against Arsenal on Sunday, Mourinho defended Manchester United’s decision to sign Alexis Sanchez.

"He was playing in the Premier League for years. We all know how good he was, that's why he was chased by many teams I believe.

"That's why we fought to have him here and I was sure he was the right player not just by his typical playing qualities but by his mentality.

"We needed that, a bit more experience, mental aggressiveness. It was now or never so it was now" Mourinho said.
