Mount Patti Accident: Late Students Immortalized After 10 Years
It is now ten years since 12 students of the Government Science Secondary School (GSSS )Lokoja who were on excursion to Mount Patti lost their lives in an accident which occurred at the mountain top on July 5th,2008.
The accident was said to have occurred when the driver who convened the students lost control on the dynamic road which leads to the mountain top.
A solidarity walk in honor of the Students was led by Moses Omeiza Audu the Leader of National Association of Kogi State Students, (NAKOSS),National Association of Okun Students (NAOS) , AND students of GSSS LOKOJA took a walk in remembrance of THE 12 STUDENTS WHO LOST THEIR LIVES ON MOUNT PATTI 10 YEARS AGO
BOUNCE NEWS gathered that No fewer than hundred students of GSSS along side the management and staff of the school participated in the remembrance walk in honour of the deceased students.
The names of the students are:

3. JANET IHIMKAYE
4. RAMATU DAUDA YUSUF
5. FAITH OKOLO
6. ZAINAB EGBUNU
7. MONICA MEDUBI
8. MERCY ATTABO
9. RITA EGBUNU
10. EBERE NNA
11. UFEDO OJOMA
12. OJONE DANLADI
BOUNCE NEWS also reports that some old boys and girls of GSSS Lokoja, National Association of Okun Students [NAOS] and the Civil Defense/ Road Safety Corps were all present at the gate of Federal University Lokoja [ formal government science secondary school] where the walk commenced all through to the foot of the mountain (Mount Patti gate) where a prayer session was led by the Chief Imam of FU Lokoja and a teacher from the school for the departed Souls.
The mourners were seen with lighted candles in their hands at the mountain gate where prayers were made for the departed souls.
