Those who traveled along the Lafia-Kadarko road in Nasarawa State on Thursday were left stranded and frustrated.

However, some of them would still be thankful for escaping being caught up in the incident that caused them delay.

A 33,000 litre tanker carrying diesel exploded along the highway and roasted several cattle with humans managing to escape

Officials of the state fire service battled hard to put the fire under control and prevent it from escalating as another tanker was parked behind the burnt one.

Channels TV reports that clearance operations were ongoing to ease traffic and give motorists a sigh of relief from the gridlock they had to endure.

This tanker explosion comes two months after a gas plant was caught up in flames in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.

Nine persons lost their lives in that incident.
