A woman has been arrested for selling her baby boy.

Nwanneka Ezechi, 30 years from Akama Oghe in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State, was said to have been impregnated by yet to be identified person(s) and later disappeared from home to an unknown destination.

It was gathered that in November 2017, she declared that she had given birth to a baby boy but this was not disclosed to the family.

The situation however arose the suspicion of her parents who informed the police and upon the information, Nwanneka was arrested.

Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ebere Amaraizu said her arrest led to the apprehension of one Okechukwu Nyia who claimed to be residing at Akpasha village of Akegbeugwu Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu state whom she allegedly sold the baby boy to at the rate of three hundred thousand naira.

Suspects are further helping the police operatives in their full-scale investigations in relation to a yet to be identified suspect whom Okechukwu Nyia had allegedly sold the baby boy to at the rate of three hundred and fifty thousand naira.
