Wayne Rooney’s seemingly good start to the season may be affected by his off-the-pitch activities.

Rooney was arrested by the Police on Thursday for drink-driving allegations and latest report suggest the 31-year old is set to be punished further by his English club, Everton.

A report in the UK Sun claims a heavy fine of as much as £320,000 club fine could be slammed on Rooney over his drink-driving charge.

Everton’s striker is also set for a dressing-down from Ronald Koeman next week as well as the loss of two weeks’ wages.

It is understood that Koeman had sought assurances from Rooney to be of good behavior as he is expected to a shining example to the younger folks at the club but the former England international has failed in that respect.

After his arrest, Rooney was released on bail and is due to appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court on September 18 - the day after his first return to Old Trafford since his Manchester United departure.
