Major League Soccer (MLS) side Vancouver Whitecaps have confirmed that they have signed a midfielder Nosa Igiebor on a two-year deal.

The club announced the signing of the former Nigeria U23 player on Friday after completing his medical.

Whitecaps made an addition to their midfield on Friday, when they announced the signing of the 26-year-old Super Eagles star.

Igiebor comes to the MLS side from Turkish club Rizespor, where he made 13 league appearances and scored one goal.

The Nigerian midfielder before this latest move have played for clubs like Lillestrom, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Real Betis and Rizespor.

Vancouver Whitecaps coach Carl Robinson said they are delighted to sign Igiebor.

“Nosa is a box-to-box midfielder who brings a lot of experience having played in some of the top leagues in the world,” said the Whitecaps FC coach Robinson.

“When you have an opportunity to bring in a player with this pedigree, you take it. Nosa adds competition for places in our midfield, which will only help strengthen our group.”
