A military helicopter has crashed, killing six and leaving 14 injured.

According to army spokesman, Colonel Abdou Ndiaye, the Senegalese military helicopter crashed in a mangrove forest in the coastal area of Missirah, with 20 people on board, including four crew.

When a rescue team got to the scene, six dead bodied were found there.

“The other 14 passengers were wounded, three seriously,” a statement told AFP, adding that the injured were being transferred to a regional hospital in Kaolack.

However, investigation has been launched to find out the cause of the crash.
