The last may not have been heard about the unpleasant fallout of the just concluded national convention of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Rivers State Governor , Nyesom Wike and the newly elected PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus on Monday visited Olabode George, who was one of the aspirants from the South- West on a peace mission.

The duo visited George at his Maitama home, Abuja, to seek his cooperation following the rancour that followed the national convention of the party.

George stepped down less than 24 hours to the convention, describing the event as a charade.

He had also lambasted Wike for saying the people of the South-West did not deserve to produce the Chairman of the party.

Secondus during the meeting told George that he would work with everyone and nobody would feel marginalised in the party.

However, the peace mission almost resulted into a shouting match between Wike and wife of George, Roli Bode- George, who accused Governor of embarrassing her husband in public.

“You embarrassed my husband in public and you are here now to beg him,” an enraged Roli George was quoted as saying.
