Midfielder John Obi Mikel and winger Victor Moses will both make a return to the Super Eagles for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon.

Nigeria will host Cameroon in September in Uyo before traveling to Yaoundé for the return leg.

Mikel only returned to action for his Chinese club Tianjin Teda last week after four months on the sideline. He underwent surgery in London for an abdominal pain.

The game against Cameroon will be Mikel’s first for the Super Eagles in 2017.

Moses, who also underwent a surgery for a toe injury after his Chelsea club won the English Premier League, has not played for Nigeria this year.

Defender Leon Balogun is also expected to make a return in the squad that will be made public this week.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has submitted a list of 28 players to the Nigeria Football Federation technical committee for final approval.

The list has three home based players from the Nigeria Professional Football League.
