The waiting game is over and the Super Eagles now have their leader, John Obi Mikel in their midst in Rabat, Morocco ahead of Friday's 2018 World Cup qualifying match against Algeria.

Mikel's arrival was confirmed by the Eagles spokesperson, Toyin Ibitoye but the captain was not part of the first training session held by the Nigerian national team in Rabat.

The former Chelsea ace was not the only missing face in Tuesday's training as the two other goalkeepers invited for the Algeria and Argentina games Daniel Akpeyi and Francis Uzoho were also absent owing to travel glitches.

In all, 23 players are expected in Morocco for the upcoming games.

Those present in Tuesday's training were Ahmed Musa, Wilfred Ndidi, Mikel Agu and goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa.

Oghenekaro Etebo, Alex Iwobi, Olanrewaju Kayode, Henry Onyekuru, Chidiebere Nwakali, Kelechi Iheanacho, Uche Agbo and Chidozie Awaziem, Leon Balogun, William Troost Ekong were also on the ground.

Ola Aina, Kenneth Omeruo and the Israel–based duo of John Ogu and Anthony Nwakaeme were all present.
