Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel Obi is in a happy mood after finally teaming up with the Super Eagles in Uyo to commence preparations ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Mikel, who arrived at the Eagles’ Ibom Hotels and Golf Resort in Uyo on Thursday, was absent in the last set of games against Poland and Serbia as he was sorting his work permit issues in China

Speaking after arriving, Mikel said he is happy playing alongside the current Super Eagles squad and also featuring at the World Cup.

“I am happy to be here. It is a huge privilege to play with this team and represent Nigeria at the World Cup,” the former Chelsea star was quoted as saying on the Super Eagles verified Twitter handle.

The Eagles will be up against the Democratic Republic of Congo in a friendly game in Port Harcourt on Monday before jetting out to London where they face England on June 2.

Bounce Sports gathered that the Rivers State Government have thrown the gate open for fans to watch the Eagles free on Monday.
