After only making his debut appearance at the last World Cup in Brazil, Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel, has admitted that he is eager for another show at the world's biggest sporting event again.

Mikel has done very well as the Super Eagles close-in on qualification for the Russia 2018 World Cup and the former Chelsea man said it was a pity their qualification was delayed owing to Monday night's stalemate in Yaounde.

“The World Cup is a big tournament and I want to attend a second one after my first in 2014,” Mikel said at the post-match press conference.

“A second one for me will be amazing. We have a great young team, but we’re not there yet.

The Super Eagles were initially cruising having scored first through Moses Simon in the first half but had to hold on late in the game to avoid defeat after Vincent Aboubakar’ s penalty had pulled the hosts level.

“Three points would have been great, but I’m happy with the one point we got. It was a really tough game.” Mikel stated.

Nigeria will welcome Zambia to Uyo on October 7 and need at least one point to pick the World Cup ticket depending on the final result of the Cranes’ game in Algeria on Tuesday.
