Nigeria Professional Football League side, MFM FC have emerged as the winners of the maiden edition of the Western Nigeria Pre-season tourney held in Lagos.

The Olukoya Boys who finished as runners-up in the NPFL last season beat another Lagos-based club, 36Lion 3-1 at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium to emerge as champions.

Interestingly, it was 36Lion that drew first blood through Bakare Emmanuel who scored in the 36th minute and they held on till the second half.

MFM pushed hard for an equalizer and on the hour-mark, their efforts paid as one of their new recruits, Victor Mbaoma put them on level terms.


Three minutes after their equalizer, MFM got in front through Monsuru Bashiru before Oche Salefu sealed victory for the Olukoya Boys in the 75th minute.

MFM FC will be representing Nigeria in the CAF Champions League and they are hoping to surprise the continent.
