Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has emerged as the winner for the 2017 Golden Boy award for the best young player in Europe.

The 18-year old saw off competition from Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, 20, and Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele, 20, to be named the standout player under the age of 21.

The French teenager had a breakthrough season at Monaco last term, scoring 26 goals in 44 appearances, before completing a loan move to the Parc des Princes ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

Mbappe has hit the ground running at PSG, scoring four goals and providing four assists in his opening 11 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants.

Renato Sanches, who won this award last year, did not even make the top ten this year but it is not expected that Mbappe would fade off that quickly a year from now.
