Don Jazzy has said Mavin Records is not dead.

The ace producer and record label owner had to ‘defend’ Mavin Records after one of his followers on Twitter wanted to know if the record label had shut down.

“Mr Jazzy, is Mavin dead or Buhari’s change has hit your label? This one your top artistes are leaving, leaving behind the learner’s and the upcoming?” the curious follower tweeted.

While admitting that Mavin Records had not been in ‘top form’ in 2018, he insisted the label had only fainted slightly and would definitely recover.

“Naaa we never die. We just faint small. E Dey happen. Pray for us to recover if you can,” Donjazzy replied.

Apart from Tiwa Savage who headlined events, and released a number of hit songs in 2018, Reekado Banks and Korede Bello had little or no effect musically in 2018, while Dr Sid’s attempt at returning to prominence met a brick wall.

Even signing new artistes like LadiPoe, DNA Twins and Johnny Drille did not give Mavin Records help in any way.

Let’s us join Don Jazzy in prayer for Mavin Records to have a great 2019.
