Just as the Lagos state chapter of the APC was collating results from its governorship primary held on Tuesday, news broke that the election had been canceled.

The gist was that the National Working Committee Chairman for the Lagos guber primaries, Clement Ebri, considered it illegal and marred by irregularities.

He was, however, overruled by the party's national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.

Before Oshiomole's intervention, Tunde Balogun, Chairman of the APC in Lagos, had also insisted that the election went on peacefully across the state.
